Tuition fees for bachelor’s and master’s programs offered in English at the University of Tampere range from 6,000 to 12,000 euros per academic year.
The tuition fee will be charged to citizens of a country outside the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland.
There is no tuition fee for exchange students, PhD students or citizens of the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland, and those with permanent residence status in Finland.
The University of Tampere strives to recognize high-achieving, motivated students. The University of Tampere Scholarship Program is intended for students who have to pay tuition fees for bachelor’s and master’s programs offered in English. The Finland Scholarship is awarded to the most deserving applicants in each program.
Tampere University Tuition Scholarships
Tampere University Tuition Scholarships covers 100% of tuition fees for the duration of the program given at the time of admission. Duration of the program
- three years for a bachelor’s degree
- two years for a master’s degree
- five years if the right to study is granted for both the bachelor’s and master’s degrees
Finnish scholarships Those awarded by the University of Tampere are part of the national Finnish Scholarship program. Applicants for Master’s degree programs may apply. Finland scholarships are awarded to the most deserving applicant in each master’s program at the University of Tampere.
Finland scholarships cover the program tuition fees for the first year of study and a €5,000 transfer grant paid to the student’s Finnish bank account after the student arrives in Tampere and begins studying at the University of Tampere.
In addition, the University of Tampere provides a Tampere University tuition fee scholarship for the second year of study to all recipients of the Finland scholarship. The scholarship covers 100% of tuition fees in the second year of study.
How to Apply for Scholarships
To be considered for a Tampere University tuition fee scholarship or a Finland scholarship, you must apply for a scholarship. as part of your application for admission during the admission application period. Applications for Master’s programs open at 8:00 a.m. (UTC+2) on 7 December 2022 and close at 3:00 p.m. (UTC +2) on 11 January 2023. Applications for undergraduate programs open on January 4, 2023 at 8:00 a.m. (UTC+2) and close on January 18, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. (UTC+2).
You will apply for University of Tampere Scholarships and Finland scholarships with the same online application that you use to apply for admission at studyinfo.fi. To apply for scholarships, you will be asked to indicate which scholarships you wish to apply for (if any), describe in writing the academic qualifications that support your merit-based scholarship application and your motivation in the scholarship application letter. To apply for a Tampere University scholarship (maximum number of characters 3500). No additional attachments are required for the scholarship application.
All the application information you provide in your application for admission on Studyinfo.fi, including your educational documents, is available to the admission committee that evaluates your scholarship application. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of an overall academic assessment in which all application information and educational documents, as well as the scholarship application letter, are taken into account and may be decisive. Scholarship applications are processed by admissions committees in the faculties and the University scholarship board. The scholarship decision will be communicated to you along with the acceptance information.
When applying for scholarships to undergraduate programs, you will be asked to place the University of Tampere study options you are applying for in the order of your preference in your scholarship application. At the University of Tampere, it is possible to receive only one scholarship offer specific to one undergraduate study option. Scholarships are awarded based on application information and a scholarship application letter to the most successful and motivated applicants in each study option. In your scholarship application letter, you will be asked to describe your interest and motivation for research in the study options for which you are applying for admission.
If you are eligible for a scholarship in several Tampere University undergraduate study options, you will only receive a scholarship offer in the study option that is highest in your preference ranking among the study options for which you are eligible for a scholarship. Please note that admission to study is a separate process and you may still be accepted to more than one study option, and study options for which you have not received a scholarship offer have an early selection offer.
The early bird offer is available to all fee-paying students without a separate application.
