APU Tuition Reduction Scholarships are offered at 30%, 50%, 65%, 80%, and 100% interest and cover the minimum academic credits required to graduate within the standard term. These scholarships are awarded in collaboration with Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) to support the ideals of APU through financial contributions from local and international companies and individuals. financial burden for outstanding international students with less financial means.
Compatibility
Applicants who will obtain student Japanese residence status (visa status) before enrolling at APU may apply for the APU Tuition Reduction Scholarship when applying to APU. If you are unable to obtain student residency status by the time you are admitted to APU, APU’s Tuition Reduction Scholarship will be forfeited. If you change from student to residence status while studying at APU, the scholarship will also be cancelled.
How to apply
You can apply for the APU Tuition Reduction Scholarship through the online application system. Applicants who apply earlier have a better chance of receiving APU’s Tuition Reduction Scholarship.
When applying for an APU Tuition Reduction Scholarship, you will need to provide additional family income information (within the online application system).
Evaluation
An overall assessment of all submitted documents, interview performance and online assessment will be conducted for both the undergraduate application and the scholarship application. Scholarship results will be announced along with the final results of the application. Also, applicants who apply earlier have a better chance of receiving the APU Tuition Reduction Scholarship.
Other information
Students awarded these scholarships are expected to maintain a good academic record, serve as role models for other students, and complete all assignments assigned to them. In case of unbecoming behavior of the recipient, the scholarship will be cancelled. Academic performance and other criteria will be reviewed each semester to determine whether recipients are eligible for renewal of this scholarship.

AP House Global Community Scholarship *Available from 2023
APU would like to support applicants who have a strong will to attend APU but are struggling to attend classes due to the economic impacts of COVID 19 by offering a temporary AP House Global Community Scholarship. One of the main considerations in selection is whether the recipients will be exemplary householders and will benefit from a multicultural environment.

In addition, students awarded the AP House Global Community Scholarship are required to act as exemplary students throughout their residence life on campus. Dismissal is terminated in case of inappropriate behavior unbecoming of a model student.
