Are you wondering what motor vehicle liability insurance is? It’s actually a really good question. And not boring at all. Which sounds a bit sarcastic as we write, but rest assured we couldn’t be more serious.
As a person who drives on our country’s often dangerous roads, it’s really wise to do everything you can to make sure you understand your liability. It is even wiser to take out car insurance with liability insurance.
So let’s start with the basics of motor liability insurance (starting with its usual naming) and go through some of the more pressing details so you can have a clearer picture of what this coverage is and how it will help you.
First, what do we mean by liability
Quite literally, the word liability is defined as a condition where you are the one legally responsible for something.
In general, if you are involved in an incident where someone else’s property is damaged and it is determined that you are responsible, you may be liable for costs related to that damage.
By law, you’re the one who has to foot the bill. Not a fun thought.
What exactly is motor vehicle liability insurance?
In short, liability insurance for your car typically insures you against the financial costs associated with being held liable for a car accident that damages someone else’s property.
As a King Price customer, we will bear the costs of any damage and loss incurred by the third party and any legal costs that the third party may recover from you. We’ve even extended this coverage to people in your household who are financially dependent on you and your children, who are full-time students, whether they live with you or not.
What was that about calling it another name
Okay, the first thing you should know is that this type of coverage isn’t typically referred to as auto liability insurance. If you’re looking for this type of coverage, you’ll have better luck asking for auto insurance that includes third-party liability insurance.
The most obvious policies are auto liability only, or auto liability, fire and theft insurance. But wait for that good news… The king’s royally amazing auto insurance policies include third party liability insurance.
Just so you know, we think it’s perfectly understandable why you’d want to ask about “liability insurance”. After all, you want to protect yourself against the costs of being held liable for damage to someone else’s property as a result of an incident involving your car.
And that’s pretty much “Third Party Auto Insurance,” don’t you think?
The king is behind you
Because your well-being is important to us, we have included liability insurance in all of our car insurance policies. Call us sentimental, but we want to do everything we can to protect you from the astronomical costs you can incur if something happens while you’re behind the wheel.
Here’s what the King covers:
- You are covered against financial liabilities after you cause a car accident that results in loss of or damage to someone else’s property.
- The legal costs that someone else may recover from you.
That’s super important. You need to know what is NOT covered by the king:
- For death, personal injury or emotional shock.
- For loss of or damage to your property or your car.
- If your claim for the car accident regarding liability is denied.
- This is already covered by law or other insurance contracts, e.g. B. a compulsory motor vehicle insurance law, the occupational health and safety law, the law on compensation for accidents at work and occupational diseases or other insurance contracts.
It’s worth noting that we’ve done our best to give you a good idea of what the King can do to protect you from potentially very high liability costs, but you can also find all the interesting details of our liability coverage here.
Motor liability insurance, third party vehicle insurance, or third party liability insurance… whatever you call it, the king has it covered!
