The following are the scholarship programs offered for undergraduate applicants. Students can apply for programs before or during admission. Applicants can find program details on this website or from supporting organizations.
Korean Government Scholarship Program (KGSP)
Compatibility
International applicants who wish to apply to SNU’s 4-year undergraduate programs.
* Those who wish to study in programs of more than 4 years, such as medicine, veterinary medicine, pharmacy and architecture, cannot apply for this scholarship.
Number of receivers
About 20-40 each year
Subsidies
Full tuition fee: Tuition exemption for 8 semesters
Living expenses: 900,000 KRW per month
Airfare: an economical round trip
Korean language tuition fee: one year
* Korean language study is compulsory and if a student does not reach TOPIK Level 3 within one year, he/she cannot enter the degree program.
Other: health insurance, billing and reimbursement costs
Application deadline: September
Selection Procedure
Applicants apply to Korean embassies in their home countries for this program → Embassies make first selection → National Institute of International Education makes final selection

Compatibility
Overseas Korean students who wish to pursue a bachelor’s degree at SNU
Subsidies
Full study exemption for a maximum of 8 semesters (Only if conditions are met)
Living expenses: 900,000 KRW per month for 8 semesters (maximum)
An economy round-trip air ticket
Tuition fee for Korean language: 6 months fee waiver at Language Education Institute
Health insurance subscription (private company)
Application period
February or March (Once a year, Recruitment period is about one month)
Selection Procedure
Applicants submit application (online application and printout) and other documents to Korean embassies in their home country → Embassies make first choice → Overseas Koreans Foundation makes second choice
