Description
Chalmers will offer around 35 IPOET scholarships in 2023.
The scholarship is funded by the Swedish Higher Education Council for fee-paying students. The scholarships are administered and awarded by Chalmers.

Choice
Selection is based on applicants’ relative academic merit, which primarily includes weighted grade point average, but also the rank of the home university (including position in global ranking lists) and application priority order for Chalmers graduate programs.

Unlimited – all Master’s programs available at Chalmers.

  • 1st year Masters applicants
  • Citizens of non-EU/EEA countries who have to pay tuition fees to study at Swedish universities

Amount

  • 75% tuition fee reduction (4 semester/2 year program)
  • Students who excel in their first year of study may receive an incremental discount covering 85% of tuition fees in their second and final year of study.
  • No funds are transferred to scholarship winners

Application and registration for 2023 master’s programs

October 17, 2022 – January 16, 2023 – Submit your application!

The online application service portal is open. Open an account at universityadmissions.se or antagning.se and select the programs/university (application deadline night CET).

The application period for master’s programs is open for national and international students.

Application for scholarships administered by Chalmers University of Technology is a separate application process.
Note that SI scholarships are not administered by Chalmers.

Deadline for submission of proof of exemption (EU/EEA citizens etc.) or payment of application fee. If required, pay the application fee to universityadmissions.se. Note that one or the other is required to process your application. This is a non-refundable administrative fee.

February 1, 2023 – Deadline for all supporting documents to complete your application

No documents should be sent directly to Chalmers University of Technology.

The list of required documents is specific to Chalmers and applies to all applicants, including those with a Swedish personal identity number and/or Swedish citizenship.
If a project portfolio is a prerequisite for the program you are applying for, this deadline also applies. Instructions specific to project portfolios are provided in section 7 on the Required documents page.

Late November – 15 March 2023 – Chalmers Special Entry Request Form

It is not mandatory, but it is recommended to complete this online form to facilitate the evaluation of your application.

March 30, 2023 – Publication of official Notice of Election Results

The Notice of Selection Results from University admission is available online as a printable PDF file, so no hard copy is sent by regular post. The printout serves as an official document and should be used when you need to submit an official copy of your selection results. For example, when applying for a residence permit at the Swedish Migration Agency.

March 31, 2023 – Late applications may be accepted if there are vacancies in the programIt may be possible to submit a late application for some graduate programs. Please note that Chalmers does not guarantee consideration of applications submitted after the general deadline, even if the application fee has been paid.
Notification of selection result is available from mid-May.

Mid March to early May 2023 – Scholarship Award Notifications

Scholarship Award Notifications will be sent (by email) to all grant recipients. In order to save your scholarship offer, you must confirm that you have accepted the scholarship offer. Instructions will follow in your scholarship offer notification. Make sure you confirm by the deadline shown.

All applicants will receive an email with information whether they have received a scholarship or not.
Note that this only applies to scholarships administered by Chalmers University of Technology (SI scholarships are not administered by Chalmers).

1 – 15 April 2023 – Appimage term for Chalmers BSc students only

Application period for students currently enrolled in a BSc program or graduates with a Chalmers BSc degree only. Additional information can be found on the “Att välja masterprogram” page in the Student Portal

Mid-April 2023 (date not set) – Chalmers The Week Before Departure

A week after the Notification of Selection Results, we will be holding a digital Pre-Departure Week for all admitted graduate students, where you will get to know Chalmers better. We will focus on a new topic each day to help you prepare for your studies. An email with information will only be sent to students admitted to Chalmers (date not set for 2023) later (we will send it to the email address you used when applying on universityadmissions.se).

Mid-May 2023 (date not set) – Deadline for first tuition payment

The first installment of the tuition fee must have been received by Chalmers by this date (payment for the 1st semester out of 4 semesters). An invoice will be sent after the Notice of Selection Results is published.
Applicants admitted in May (from the waiting list or late applications) will have a different date for the first installment shown on the invoice.
Applies to fee-paying students only.

End of August 2023 – Orientation Week

Welcome to Chalmers! Chalmers University of Technology and the Chalmers International Admissions Committee (CIRC) are organizing an Orientation week for all newly enrolled students.
August 28, 2023 – The first day of the fall semester and the deadline for online registration (register in Ladok)!
Research begins!
You must register by today. This is a mandatory step. Detailed instructions will be provided for all admitted students. Check the Selection Notification result published in your personal account and follow the link to the Student portal. Stay up to date!
