DAAD-STIBET SCHOLARSHIP AND MENTORING PROGRAM IN GERMANY

Funded by the STIBET-Program of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the TU Dresden International Office offers Graduate Scholarships as well as Scholarships for Highly Committed Students to highly qualified international students of TU Dresden. Study applicants who are not yet registered at TU Dresden at the time of the scholarship application (applicants to study at TU Dresden) cannot be supported by these scholarships.

Scholarships to complete studies:

Who can apply?

  • TU Dresden international students at diploma, bachelor’s, master’s or state exam student level

Who is not eligible for these scholarships?

  • Student exchangeThose who have studied only one or two semesters at TU Dresden and have not obtained a degree at TU Dresden are not eligible for these scholarships.
  • Learn about applicants Those who apply to study at TU Dresden and are not registered at TU Dresden at the time of the scholarship application cannot be supported by these scholarships.

Application rerequirements:

This scholarship can be awarded to students with good and very good academic achievements (overall grade point average of at least 2.5) and those who received a final degree within one year (registered for the final dissertation or have achieved at least 75% of the credits). It is not possible to combine this scholarship with other scholarships (regardless of the type of scholarship and the amount of the scholarship level), as well as combining the scholarship with an income of more than 450 Euros.

Scholarship Rate: 300 euros per month

Funding period:
April 1 – September 30 (summer semester)
October 1 – March 31 (winter semester)

Scholarship period:
3 months (maximum until the deadline for submitting the final dissertation)

Application Deadlines:
8 March for the funding period April 1 – September 30 (summer semester)
September 8 for the funding period 1 October – 31 March (Winter Semester)

Documents to be submitted:
• Application form for STIBET Scholarship
• Enrollment certificate for the funding period (ie for the next semester, not the current semester)
• Current list of exam results issued by the exam commission (transcript).
• Approval of the examination office, indicating the obtained credits and the average grade; Confirmation must be submitted by the end of the application period, even if you are who fail to obtain 75 percent of the credits or enroll in the final dissertation. In this case, confirmation must be submitted by April 15 for a summer semester scholarship or by October 15 for a winter semester scholarship. Therefore, the certificate must be submitted twice: the first time by the end of the application period (even if less than 75% of the credits have been achieved and the dissertation has not yet been registered) and the second time by April 15 or October 15 (by this date 75% of the credits must have been obtained or the dissertation registered) .

In order for your application documents to be sent securely, encrypted from your TUD email address (@tu-dresden.de or @mailbox.tu-dresden.de), you must first apply for a digital certificate. Selection and award procedures (Graduate Scholarship):

The selection committee consists of at least three members of the TU Dresden International Office. Scholarships are awarded based on the ranking list. The ranking of the scholars is based on the average grade of academic achievement. Scholarships are awarded only to students who have obtained at least 75% of credits or are already registered for their final thesis. Additional reasons for refusal: additional (domestic or foreign) scholarships during the funding period (regardless of the amount of the scholarship degree), staying abroad during the funding period (unless the study rules require staying abroad), the scholarship applicant has already received a scholarship to complete studies (e.g. STIBET , GFF), applicants with an income from paid work or social benefits (BAföG) of more than EUR 450,- during the funding period.

Application rerequirements:

This scholarship can be awarded to students with good and very good academic achievements (overall grade point average of at least 2.5) and a High commitment to international activities at TU Dresden (voluntary or low-paid), such as mentoring international students, assisting at cultural events or tandem/mentoring programs. Students can, for example, participate in the following initiatives or associations (an international reference is intended):

University groups at TUD, Fachschaftsrat des Studiengangs, STURA (Referat Ausländische Studierende), Campusbüro Uni mit Kind, Studentenwerk Dresden

It is not possible to combine this scholarship with other scholarships (regardless of the amount of the scholarship rate), as well as combining the scholarship with an income of more than 450 Euros.

The selection committee consists of at least three members of the TU Dresden International Office. Scholarships are awarded only to scholars with a grade point average of at least 2.5. The requirement for this scholarship is a regular, long-term (at least 6 months) commitment of no more than 6 months in an international context at TUD (low-paid or voluntary). Additional reasons for refusal: additional (domestic or foreign) scholarships during the funding period, applicants with income from paid work or social benefits (BAföG) of more than EUR 450,- during the funding period.
