Cambridge University Part III Mathematics International Scholarships in UK

The Faculty is committed to maintaining the global reach of Part III Mathematics and an exciting and significant new international scholarship scheme has been introduced for the Master of Advanced Study in Mathematics (MASt) in 2021/22. This scheme aims to support and encourage students from all over the world who can benefit from our internationally leading Masters programme.

Part III is a mathematically challenging and intensive course designed for highly qualified students with a high degree of independence and self-motivation and is an excellent preparation for mathematical research. The minimum entry requirement is usually a UK first-class honors degree in mathematics, physics, engineering or statistics, or a comparable non-UK qualification. The University’s Directorate of International Qualifications offers guidance on international equivalents.

Applications for admission to Mathematics Part III are accepted from all students, regardless of nationality, who are prepared and able to benefit from the course. Over the past five years, students from 73 different countries have been admitted to Part III, choosing from an unprecedented number of lecture courses covering all aspects of pure and applied mathematics, statistics and theoretical physics. More than 60% of students on the course achieved a Distinction or Distinction (equivalent to a first class).

October 2023 Entry

We expect to offer a number of Part III Mathematics International Scholarships for entry in October 2023.

Value of prizes

These scholarships are partial awards, the value of which is equal to the difference between the Home and Foreign University fees for the course. The value of the scholarship offered may be adjusted to take into account any other awards the student has received or received for the same course. Students requiring full funding are encouraged to apply for other funding opportunities.

Compatibility

All applicants seeking funding for the MASt in Mathematics (course codes MASA, MASP, MASS, MASTH) and who are responsible for overseas fees are eligible to be considered for the scheme. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of an assessment of academic potential as indicated in the applicant’s MASt application. Potential applicants from currently underrepresented groups are particularly encouraged to apply.

Application and deadline

Applications to MAS are made online through the University’s Applicant Portal. Details of the procedure and required supporting documents are available from the University’s Graduate Admissions website.

Applicants wishing to be considered for Part III Mathematics International Scholarships must submit their application, including supporting documents and references. 5 January 2023 at 11.59pm (midnight) UK time. and tick the box on the application form to indicate that they wish to be considered for funding.
